Road Car Remapping
TDF is an official Revo Technic authorised tuning centre and an official RS Tuning dealer.
About TDF Remapping
TDF offer both performance remaps from world leaders RS Tuning and Revo Technik.
If you are unclear as to what a remap is then in the very simplest terms it can be explained as a modified version of the software that the computer/ECU controlling your engine runs. A more indepth explanation would be that we recalibrate certain areas of the original factory ECU calibration (the software) to allow for increased performance e.g. greater boost pressure (hence a greater delivered air mass) and an associated increase in fueling along with revisions to the ignition timing calibration to suit the new operating parameters.
Turbo (Force Inducted) and Naturaly Aspirated engines differ with regards the amount of power one can expect from a remap. In most cases when dealing with a turbo/force inducted engine package it is possible to greatly increase the delivered air mass and therefore the power and torque the engine produces. A Naturaly Aspirated engine relies (mostly) on atmospheric pressure to deliver the air mass to the combustion chamber and as such gains are more limited in percentage terms - however we can still make good improvements to both power, torque, the shape of the torque curve and the response of the engine package. Force Inducted or Naturaly Aspirated we can extract the best from your engine.
Wherever possibly all cars that are remaped at TDF have before and after power tests on our state of the art rolling road. This is to ensure that the car is in a healthy condition allowing us to find maximum safe gains from your engine package and to demonstrate the positive performance improvements we have made. You will be provided with a before and after plot of torque and power. We do not just 'upload' a generic map and consider correct pre recalibration testing to be of the upmost importance in ensuring excellent results and faultless reliability.
All remaps supplied by TDF are uploaded via the OBD2 Diagnostics port. We do not open the ECU or add anything but software to the ECU. For this reason TDF supplied remaps are invisible to the naked eye and unless very advanced diagnostic systems are used will be invisible to diagnostics. However you should inform your insurance company that you have had your car remapped.
