Engine Calibration
Tour-De-Force offers engine control system calibration for most aftermarket and motorsport engine control systems, including those from EC, Motec, GEMS and GEMS variants, Emerald, MBE, DTA, Pectel and Life Racing.
Engine Calibration is undertaken on our state of the art rolling road or on a customer/nominated engine dyno. Our rolling road has many unique features which make calibration far more accurate than ever before possible, including the ability to hold over 1000ftlb in 'steady state' i.e. at a solid and stable engine RPM. This allows for very precise calibration of load and RPM sites. Our air flow and extraction system is unique to our dyno and allows us to provide not only direct through rads air flow for engine cooling but also direct airflow to diffs, gearboxes, under car mounted coolers etc. to ensure all temperatures remain within acceptable tolerances and do not negatively impact the accuracy of the calibration.
Engine control on a 4 cylinder engine of a known quantity and with a good base calibration can generaly be calibrated from scratch in a day including all diagnostic testing and setup neccesary before calibration begins for around £450 + VAT
Additions such as gear cut, multiple maps, advanced boost control systems, advanced VVT etc. will add to the complexity of the calibration and therefore the amount of time required and cost involved. Please contact us for a quote on calibrating an advanced engine control system.
For motorsport applications we also offer a "Track-Side" service where we will attend a race or test to provide engine control support and further calibration development. Please contact us for more information.
